Artist Statement
I like art that has a positive point of view. I don't mean it has a smiley face, but too often negativity and the grotesque are used in a too easy attempt at expression.
To me a painting has to look good or it doesn't have much. But still a painting has to do more than look good. With our short attention spans and saturation of media images, the challenge for a painter is to make a viewer take a second look.
